Their design includes sharp cutting spurs on the outer edges that create a clean entrance and exit hole, making them ideal for softwoods, hardwoods, and some plastics. Brad point bits can be attached to spindles, allowing for multiple cuts at the same time. They are not recommended for hard materials like metal or stone, as the center point can easily break.
